Abandoned and left in a cardboard box in a state of severe exhaustion, Jodie the dog seemed to have no hope for a brighter future. But thanks to the relentless efforts of the Dumaguete Animal Sanctuary rescue team, Jodieโs story takes a turn for the better, demonstrating the power of love and dedication.
Upon discovering Jodie, the rescue team acted swiftly and took her in for immediate treatment. Jodieโs rescuer had been feeding her for some time before she vanished, only to reappear in a dire condition. He brought her to the sanctuary and committed to adopting her once she recovered.
With numerous health issues, Jodieโs road to recovery was far from easy. Initial blood tests revealed a low red blood cell count and a high infection level, although her liver and kidneys were fortunately in good shape. She was put on IV fluids, iron supplements, and antibiotics to combat her infections.
Five days into her treatment, Jodie began to show the first positive signs of recovery. She remained on IV fluids and antibiotics while resting comfortably.
Two weeks later, Jodieโs skin had healed, and her hair was starting to grow back. Although she still had difficulty walking, daily physical therapy sessions were helping her regain strength.
Twenty-four days after being rescued, Jodie was almost fully recovered. Her skin had cleared up, and she was receiving therapy for her injured leg. It was heartwarming to see Jodie transform from a weak, suffering dog to a happy, carefree soul.
Two months after her rescue, Jodie was a completely different dog. She was now healthy, strong, and ready for adoption.
This miraculous transformation is a testament to the Dumaguete Animal Sanctuary rescue teamโs unwavering dedication and care.
