This story is about a pit bull named Rudy, who was found in a terrible condition after being thrown into a plastic bucket. The dog, whose skin was pockmarked with deep wounds from being burned by cigarettes and battery acid, had almost no fur when it arrived at a New York shelter last November.
He suffers from Cushing’s disease which was left untreated, and his front leg was badly broken, making walking impossible for him.
So, Special Needs Animal Rescue Rehabilitation (SNARR) of the Northeast was contacted by the shelter in hopes they would help the dog.
SNARR Director Courtney Bello has extensive experience rescuing animals like Rudy, who was seriously injured. She was completely heartbroken when she saw Rudy, and she didn’t take any photos of his leg because it was in bad shape.
They shared on Facebook that Rudy, who was absolutely grateful when he was rescued, miraculously survived! Therapeutic baths were the important thing that helped Rudy heal.
A video of Rudy getting a medicinal bath was shared online and went viral. Fortunately, he was cared for by a veterinary couple, who had a beautiful farm in New England, where Rudy could heal faster because he was surrounded by many animals – lambs, cats, dogs and the family’s children. What a happy ending! Watch the video below.
