Officers from the St. Lucie County Sheriff’s Office in Florida were startled by a sound as they were leaving a call. Curiously, they decided to investigate and discovered the groaning coming from the drain. To their relief, they found a dog on the verge of drowning.

Believing it was meant to be, one of the officers felt a connection with the dog and decided to adopt him.

While most people probably ignored these voices, sympathetic policemen followed their instincts. Rescue the helpless puppy.

One of the officers who found this little puppy struggling to stay afloat in the drain was named James Gittings.

When help arrived it was James. Scared but determined not to give up.

The officers carefully cleaned the dog until it regained its scent. Then they started searching for his family.

Since no owner was found, Officer Gittings took the puppy home. He called it the blessing.

The blessing is currently. He enjoys every moment of his life.
