While some individuals love their pets as if they were part of the family, others unfortunately enslave them for neglect and bad conditions. Unfortunately, Lieber experienced the latter.

The four-year-old guard dog was in an abandoned house in Caguas, Venezuela, chained day and night without food or water. The thick chain around her neck made it impossible for her to breathe, it was so short that she could not even put it on.

Fortunately, her misery eventually ended when concerned neighbors noticed how her owner was abusing her, and they quickly reported her to the police and the local animal shelter.

When the rescuers came, Lieber was hungry and joyfully ate all the food they gave her.

They removed the chain to show the raw meat around her neck, which had been damaged by years of dangling from the tight metal chain around her neck. They treated her wound and got adequate medical attention.

Lieber is now embracing life and greatly appreciates her second chance.
