Since there are a number of dogs in shelters, they are all looking for a home. Unfortunately some individuals may require time.
Many dogs are often overlooked by adopters who prefer traditionally more attractive puppies due to factors such as breed, age, appearance, or health issues.
But sometimes a good-hearted person steps forward. Shows sympathy towards these animals. The bull was adopted from the shelter by a two-year-old girl and she chose him over all the animals.
When Audra Spurio took her two-year-old daughter to the shelter with the intention of adopting a dog, she never expected to be drawn to an ugly-looking bull. Although he knew that the dog needed some care, the little boy insisted.
In an interview with The Dodo Audra shared that “my baby girl wanted to meet her more than any other dog in the shelter that day.” Although the dog smelled “like mange” the little boy insisted on keeping it. She said, “Mom, this.”
The dog was let out into the yard. “I need your help,” said Gigi.
The pitbull was allowed to go and play because Gigi agreed to the girls’ request. The child was usually kind and understanding while the dog seemed fearful and shy.
While many children may feel disgusted with dogs, Gigi simply saw a companion in need.
While the couple was playing outdoors, the girl showered the dog with belly rubs and kisses that clearly show their bond.
“I just watched this puppy melt in G’s arms,” Audra shared. The puppy clung to my daughter tightly. I didn’t want to leave.
Gigi begged her mom to get her pitbull home so they could take care of her until she could go back to the kennel. In the words of the child “Sick dog let’s go home”.
Fortunately, the girls’ wish was granted. Of all the dogs in the shelter that day, I fell head over heels for the pit bull now known as Scarlett, who now had a loving home.
Audra informs The Dodo that Scarlett is now home and doing much better.
She still dreams of achieving her goal.
