The owner of a bull found the dog in Sao Paulo, Brazil, with several feathers impaled. The photos depict a golden-brown dog with hundreds of yellow feathers covering its muzzle, forehead, nose, ears, and legs.
When Adriano Bertolin, an unemployed man, realized he couldn’t afford the vet bill, he started an online fundraiser to pay for the care.
Dr. José Roberto Apolari, a local politician, stepped in to help, taking Thor to the hospital and offering financial assistance.
According to reports, the three-year-old bull clashed with a porcupine for the second time in a year while sustaining horrific injuries.
After discovering Thor impaled by porcupine quills and seeking help in obtaining medical attention for him, Bertolin posts a request for help online.
Everyone have a great morning.” When I woke up this morning, my dog was in this state. Can a vet or hospital help him?
After listening to the dog’s owner’s request, counselor Dr. Jose Roberto Apolari made the decision to help.
Adriano said in a Facebook post that “Dr. Apolari was an angel in my dog’s life because I couldn’t afford a private vet.” I don’t currently have a job and I have four kids at home.
Adriano claims that after taking Thor to the vet and covering the cost of the visit, the council member brought the dog home.
According to Thor’s owner, this is the second time the dog has encountered a porcupine in a year.
In February 2021, Adriano’s friend, who was working at the time in a private veterinary clinic, helped the injured dog.
The porcupine dog attacked, though it wasn’t immediately clear how he was doing it.
